von Braun´s Review
Genuine Porsche 356 SC 1965 with fully documented history since new.
The 1965 Porsche 356 SC is equipped with the famous “Super 90” engine, delivering 95 horsepower and featuring twin two-barrel Solex carburettors. Unlike its predecessors, this final generation of the 356 is fitted with disc brakes both front and rear.
The family company J.F. Björsell AB was founded in 1888 by the grandfather of Åke Björsell, who represented the third generation of the family business. Åke was known as a sophisticated sports car enthusiast. He took delivery of the car from his local Porsche dealer, E.G. Larssons Bil AB in Borås, on November 28th, 1964.
The company J.F. Björsell is listed as the first owner in the car’s original service booklet, and the original registration number was P 83107.
Åke had a great passion for sports cars, particularly those painted in dark colours. This Porsche was therefore ordered in Slate Grey (colour code 6401) with a red interior.
Before being sold to its second owner, the car was repainted in white – a more popular colour choice at the time.
The second owner was Mr. Kjell Eldholm from Svenljunga, a small town only 50 km from Borås. During a trip in Germany, he experienced engine problems, and Porsche workshop Karl Rohe in Bad Driburg installed a brand-new factory engine of the correct specification.
A new warranty was issued by Porsche on July 19th, 1967, at 54,075 km, confirming that the original engine (no. P 821 549) was replaced by factory engine no. KO-P 821 864.
In February 1969, the car moved just 30 km further, ending up near today’s von Braun Sports Cars headquarters, when flooring contractor Rolf Lind from Örby traded in his Volkswagen and purchased the car from Ottoson Bilar AB in Borås for 10,010 SEK. He then kept the car for 56 years, caring for it meticulously until his passing in 2025.
You now have the opportunity to become part of this unique piece of Porsche history. The car retains its natural patina – the interior upholstery is clean and intact, and the paintwork is shiny and representative, though with details that could be improved if concours standard is desired.
The car appears free from rust in both chassis and body, with only a minor historic repair along the lower right side.
A small repair was also made to the outer sill already in the 1960s, which resulted in the rear torsion bar access cover being closed. The car is sold as is, but all types of restoration services – including a return to the original Slate Grey colour – can be arranged upon request for the new owner.
