von Braun´s Review
The Mercedes SL 65 AMG was the flagship version of the SL R230 and cost almost 100 T.EUR more than a regular SL in 2008. It represents a performance and luxury that today, 16 years later, can be compared with the most exclusive sports cars available on the new car market. Who would not be satisfied with 1000 NM of torque and 612 horsepower delivered by a fantastic V12 engine with Bi-Turbo?!
Today, there seem to be only 7 cars left in Sweden with the corresponding engine version. The SL65 has already become a desirable semi-classic that appears to have seen an upward trend in value.
Our example is painted in 792U Palladium Silver Metallic and has a light gray leather interior in very good condition. The paint finish has been measured by von Braun to be 100-180 microns over the entire car. There is no indication of any repainting or damage repairs. It was registered for the first time in Germany in December 2008 and exported to Sweden by a private person just over 6 months later. Mercedes Malmö serviced the car for the first time in April 2010 and had then only driven 7484km. At the time of writing, there are also documented service records from 2014 at 46,033km and 2016 at 50,988km. The car is delivered to the next owner both service updated and technically checked by MOT inspection as well as Mercedes AMG specialist.
The car's 19" diamond-brushed AMG rims have scratch marks on the edge of two of the car's four rims.
The front tires from 2017 made by Hankook Ventus S1 Evo have a tread depth of 5mm.
The rear tires from 2017 made by Hankook Ventus S1 Evo also have a tread depth of 5mm.
IMPROVEMENT POTENTIAL:
The front hood has a number of very small stone chips. During production, it also appears that AMG had some difficulty getting the special metallic color to be completely free of color shifts on the hood, which a trained professional eye may notice.
Exterior carbon fiber package consists, among other things, of exterior mirrors with visual carbon fiber. The covers can be suitably clear-coated again as some wear with clear coat that has been released at the edges is visible.
The front steel brake discs are showing some wear and may need to be replaced in the near future.
Polishing with possible paint protection is also recommended as it may lift the shine to a higher level than it has had for many years.
