The second-generation Corvette (C2) was introduced in 1962 as a 1963 model year. The body was transformed into a more modern streamlined design designed by Larry Shinoda. For the first time a Coupe model was introduced with hidden headlights operated by an electric motor. The New Generation Corvette also got the name "Sting Ray". This specific car has been professionally "body off" restored. The original engine is a 327cui V8 "small block" with 350 hp. The gearbox is 4-speed manual. It has matching numbers on everything! The original version was in the same Ermine White as it has today, but with black interior. During the restoration, the black interior was replaced with a new one in red.
The restoration has been done authentically with surface treatments in cadmium, phosphatization or untreated metal, as it was when it left the factory. It has decals, paint marks and '' over spray '' as well as '' factory imperfections '' just as it left Bowling Green / Kentucky in 1966. After the restoration 10 years ago, it has been driven about 2500 km. The glass fiber body does not show any drop down surface or cracking tendencies, and the paintings are of high quality. All chrome keeps high class. All the glass windows of the car appear to be original since 1966, in addition to the small ventilation window in the right door. The exclusive "Quick Knock-Off" wheels and the exclusive "Teakwood Steering Wheel" are expensive and sought after options. The car is great, but if you want it in '' mint condition '', you need to spend some work to clean and review all surface finishes properly in the engine compartment, wheelhouse and chassis.
